Report on the Tamil Nadu Assembly Incident (Governor's Walkout) The session was marked by significant tension between Governor R.N. Ravi and the DMK-led government , culminating in the Governor’s walkout . The key issues are outlined below: * Breach of Protocol: It is alleged that proper respect was not accorded to Governor R.N. Ravi by the CM, the Speaker, and DMK MLAs upon his entry into the Assembly. * Speech Content Dispute: A conflict arose regarding the Governor’s Address. While Governor Ravi intended to deliver a speech he had prepared himself, the DMK government insisted he read the officially prepared text provided by the state cabinet. * Microphone Issue: As the Governor prepared to speak, his microphone was reportedly switched off. Speaker Appavu attributed this to a "technical fault," though critics have dismissed this explanation as a pretext to silence the Governor. * National Anthem Controversy: Further friction occurred when the state government allegedl...

At the temple entrance, an inscription confirms that this sacred site was originally built during the  Chola dynasty . 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 The temple is dedicated to  Vakula Matha , the foster mother of  Lord Venkateshwara . According to spiritual history, Vakula Matha was  Yashoda  (the foster mother of Lord Krishna ) in her previous birth. During the  Dvapara Yuga , Yashoda was unable to witness Lord Krishna’s wedding. To fulfill her deep desire, Lord Krishna granted her a boon: she would be reborn in the  Kali Yuga  as Vakula Matha to arrange and attend the  grand wedding of Lord Venkateshwara . Challenges faced by Jayalalithaa and her tremendous victory

Image
The Iron Lady of Tamil Nadu : Navigating Identity and Adversity J. Jayalalithaa remains one of the most polarizing and powerful figures in Indian political history. Often referred to as "Amma" by her followers, her journey from a reluctant actor to the undisputed leader of the AIADMK is a story of resilience against internal party friction, gender bias, and the complex caste dynamics of Tamil Nadu. Heritage vs. Perception A common misconception regarding Jayalalithaa was her geographic and cultural identity. While she was born in the princely state of Mysore , she was not a Kannadiga . Her ancestral roots were firmly planted in Srirangam , Tamil Nadu. This connection was later solidified in 2011 when she chose to contest—and win—from the Srirangam assembly constituency . In the political arena, her Brahmin identity was frequently used as a weapon by her opponents. Leaders like M. Karunanidhi often projected her caste to fuel anti-Brahmin sentiment, a cornerstone of Dravid...

Why is the word two/twice essential in Brahmin life? Why is he called twice born?

Image
The Dual Identity of the Tamil Brahmin: Understanding the Term "Parpaan" In the complex landscape of Tamil Nadu’s social and political history, terms often carry weight far beyond their literal definitions. One such word is  Parpaan (பார்ப்பான்) , a term used to identify  Brahmins . While it has been frequently employed in political discourse—sometimes with a derogatory or exclusionary tone by Dravidian movements—the etymological and spiritual roots of the word reveal a deeper connection to the concept of a "twice-born" life. The Etymology: From "Parpu" to "Parpaan" To understand the term, one must look at the classical Tamil word Parpu (பார்ப்பு). In Tamil literature, Parpu refers to the young of birds. This imagery is deliberate and symbolic: *  The First Life:  A bird is "born" once when the egg is laid. *  The Second Life : It is "born" again when it hatches from the shell and enters the world as a bird. This biological ph...
