📰 Prashant Kishor: A Look after his bihar defeat

Image
📰  Prashant Kishor : A Look after his bihar defeat When I see Prashant Kishor (PK), I immediately remember a famous dialogue from the tamil movie Thiruvilayadal . Sivaji Ganesan , playing Lord Shiva , tells Nagesh ( Dharumi ): "The man who directs the whole drama, can he also act in it, my son?" It is similar to this. Prashant Kishor was the political strategist for many big and strong parties with huge grassroots systems, like the BJP , Trinamool Congress , and DMK . Using his super-sharp mind and highly skilled team, he helped these parties find victory. We must agree that this victory was not easy. To achieve it, PK had to do many complex political calculations, apply many formulas, and guess correctly at many stages whether something would work or fail. He gave the final data to the parties, and they won. But, starting a new political party is not that easy a thing. For this, you need to build the entire structure from the ground up. You need all kinds of people in th...

🤔 Sastras vs. Law: The Intercaste Marriage Debate

🤔 Sastras vs. Law: The Intercaste Marriage Debate This is a topic with two very different answers: one from the Sastras (traditional scriptures) and one from Indian Law . 📜 The Sastras' View : Opposing Intercaste Marriage According to the Sastras, a Brahmin girl's marriage is very specific. When a Brahmin girl is married in the traditional, Sastric way, it involves Kanyadaan (giving the daughter as a generous gift to a Brahmin boy).  * Big Benefit: This act is believed to remove the father's sins and gives an opportunity for 21 generations (10 past, 10 future, and the father himself) to easily attain Moksha (salvation).  * The Girl's Role: By marrying a Brahmin boy with traditional mantras, the girl helps her father achieve these good deeds.  * The Warning: If a Brahmin girl marries someone from a different Varna (caste), the Sastras warn that the boy's family/generation will suffer later on. Even if they are happy for a generation or two due to their own goo...

A Great Blessing

A Great Blessing Those who were born as Brahmins (Andhanar) in this land of Bharat are all blessed people (Bakkiyavaan-gal). While being born as a Brahmin is significant, living as a Brahmin is even more sublime. Let us, along with our future generations, vow to protect this great traditional excellence, which has continued uninterrupted for over a thousand years, so that it may flourish even more prosperously, without undergoing any change of heart. The greatest blessing God grants to Brahmins is ensuring their tradition remains free from inter-caste marriages (Kalappu Vivaaham). The end of the Kali Yuga is marked by the Kalki Avatar , who will be the last Brahmin, an incarnation of Perumal ( Vishnu ). There is a reference to the Kalki Avatar in the book " Deivathin Kural " (The Voice of God). The end of the Kali Yuga will feature the Kalki Avatar being born as the son of the last Brahmin couple who faithfully follow the ancient Brahmin tradition. As the end of the Kali...

🙏 A Day of Rare Blessing: When Divine Energies Align

Image
🙏  A Day of Rare Blessing: When Divine Energies Align Today, November 26, 2025 ,  marks a remarkably special and rare occasion in the Hindu calendar . It is one of those auspicious days where two powerful astrological elements—the Shasti Tithi (sixth lunar day) and the Thiruvonam Nakshatram ( Shravana Star )—occur simultaneously. This rare alignment creates a highly potent window for seeking spiritual grace. ✨ The Power of the Alignment The day's auspiciousness is magnified by the energies of the deities associated with these forces: * Shasti Tithi: This day is primarily dedicated to Lord Murugan ( Skanda / Kartikeya ), the God of Valor and Victory . Worship on this day is believed to bring courage, eliminate negative energies, and grant success. * Thiruvonam Nakshatram: This star, also known as Shravana, is considered the birth star of Lord Vishnu ( Perumal ), the preserver of the universe . Worship during this star is said to bring wealth, knowledge, and protecti...

Why did Brahmins stop doing a hotel business in Tamil Nadu?

Just a few centuries ago, Brahmins would not eat outside in public places. They would consume their meals only in their dedicated Brahmin houses, or in Brahmin chattirams (free inns/feeding houses), or in madams (monasteries/religious centres). Roughly a hundred years back, Brahmins started running restaurants. In these eateries, there would be separate seating areas reserved exclusively for Brahmins. A board would clearly specify, "Area for Brahmins to eat." This arrangement was in place during the early days of Brahmin-run restaurants because they adhered to specific rules of ritual purity (parisheshana vidhimurai). Other communities would often mock or ridicule this by splitting the words (in Tamil, Brahmanargal kall Saappidum Idam - Place where Brahmins eat liquor), and this kind of satirical reference even appeared in a few movies. This is how Brahmins started eating in public places other than their own homes. The first step towards this was taken by the restaurants...

Auspicious Sloka of Anjaneya

Image
This is a beautiful and devotional Tamil passage about Lord Anjaneya ( Hanuman ). 🙏  Karthigai Moolam - Surrender to the Holy Feet of Sri Anjaneya Swamy ! The Auspicious Sloka of Anjaneya: Sanskrit/Tamil Verses: बुद्धिर् बलं यशो धैर्यं निर्भयत्वं अरोगता। अजाड्यं वाक्पटुत्वं च हनुमत् स्मरणम् भवेत्॥ *  Buddhir Balam Yasho Dhairyam * Nirbhayatvam Aroghata * Ajaadyam Vaakpatutvam Cha * Hanumat Smaranaat Bhavet The Meaning: This Sloka describes the various blessings (Anugraham) Anjaneya bestows upon those who meditate on (or remember) him. He grants: Intelligence (Buddhi),  Strength (Balam), Fame (Yashas), Firmness/Steadfastness (Dhairyam), Fearlessness (Nirbhayatvam), Good Health (Arogyam), Agility/Vigilance (Ajaadyam), and Oratorical Skill/Eloquence (Vaakpatutvam)—all these come from remembering Hanuman . Normally, all these qualities are impossible to find together in one person. A highly intelligent person might be sickly and dull (sonia - lethargic/weak). A ver...

Is a Brahmin Man Who Marries Outside His Caste Permitted to Perform Pitru Karyas (Ancestral Rites)?

Image
The question of whether a  Brahmin  man who marries a woman from a different Jāti (caste) is allowed to perform  Pitru Karyas  (rites for the ancestors) has been met with varied responses in contemporary society. Many people, considering the current social climate, argue that it should be permissible. From a humanitarian perspective, this stance is understandable and often deemed correct by those who hold it. However, we must now examine what  Dharma Śāstra  (the scriptural law) dictates regarding this issue. The Stance of Dharma Śāstra For every man born into the Brahmin lineage, the Dharma Śāstra forms the fundamental framework of their way of life. It is therefore incumbent upon us to follow its dictates to the greatest extent possible. If we do not respect the laws laid down for our own community, who will? The Dharma Śāstra states clearly that when a Brahmin man, having undergone the  Upanayana  ( sacred thread ceremony ), marries a woman of...

⚖️ Will vs. Settlement Deed: Which is Better?

Image
Both a Will and a Settlement Deed are legal documents for transferring property ownership. However, there are significant differences between the two concerning the timing, effect, control, and revocability. 1️⃣ Will (உயில்) — Document that takes effect after death Meaning: > A document in which a person specifies to whom their property should pass after their death. > Legal Basis: The Indian Succession Act, 1925 . Registration: Optional (not mandatory). Key Features: * No effect while the writer is alive. * Takes effect only after their death. * The Will can be cancelled (revoked) at any time. * The writer retains full control over the property. * Low cost (No Stamp Duty required). Advantages: ✅ The property remains under the writer's control while they are alive. ✅ Easy to change/modify. ✅ Registration is not essential (but registering provides greater protection). Consequences: ❌ Potential for disputes and litigation among relatives after death. ❌ The Will can be challeng...
