  From 1967 there were no brahmin ministers in the tamilnadu government cabinet. Even though Jayalalithaa was chief minister there were no cabinet portfolios allotted to brahmin. Venkataramanan, a brahmin ,who won in Mylapore assembly constituency by defeating the dmk and bjp, became the cabinet minister. He is in the list of the first set of cabinet ministers.
