Is there any possibility of increasing the Brahmin population?

Is there any possibility of increasing the Brahmin population? During the late 1990s and the early 2000s, a gentleman associated with a Brahmin association used to visit many households in the city, including ours. Whenever he met young men or women of marriageable age, he would advise them to have four or five children to help increase the community's population. Around 2002 or 2003, he suddenly disappeared from the association's activities and stopped visiting households in the city. We later learned that the gentleman’s daughter had eloped with a man from a different community who worked in a menial job. Consequently, the gentleman distanced himself from the association. At that time, I was either in the final year of my Master’s degree or searching for a job. Following this incident, three thoughts struck me: 1. Is it truly possible to increase the population by having four or five children? 2. If so, how can we protect these children and raise them with traditional Brahmin...

Why Brahmin Representation is Essential: A Clear Perspective on the 2026 Assembly Elections. It is well known to all of us that the Tamil Nadu political arena is currently heating up for the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled for April 23rd. The political landscape in Tamil Nadu is generally centered around anti-Brahminism. Since India’s independence, the Tamil Nadu Congress Party gradually reduced the importance given to Brahmins. Later, when the political leadership of the state shifted to the DMK, the situation worsened; by the 1970s, the number of Brahmins in politics had dwindled to a mere pittance. MGR, who broke away from the Dravidian movements, slightly altered his political style and gave Brahmins a place in Tamil Nadu politics. We are well aware of one such individual, Dr. Hande, who remains healthy and active today. Furthermore, MGR introduced Ms. Jayalalithaa into his politics; when his health declined, he had Jayalalithaa lead the campaign across Tamil Nadu. This shift...

What do you think of the grievances aired in public by the daughter of the sidelined DMK leader M.K.Azhagiri against her uncle and Tamil Nadu CM M.K.Stalin? Does Azhagiri still has some clout in the southern districts?

Very first question we need to ask why alagiri was moved to madurai from Chennai because that distance made him to occupy the lesser space in politics when compared to his younger brother stalin. Some news said that alagiri was sent by karunanidhi to manage the madurai unit of murusoli. Few more highlights that as his wife kanthi alagiri’s request that he moved to madurai and it is her hometown. Some unofficial information said that kanthi alagiri is a distant relative of late congress vetran politician Kakkan and more over karunanidhi disliked the marriage of his son with kanthi alagiri who is from dalit community. That is also the key reason that made the karunanidhi who asked alagiri to get shifted to madurai. When mgr was chief minister there was a missing of vaira(diamond) vel (weapon of lord Muruga), for that karunanidhi performed the patha yatra(Foot March) from madurai to Tiruchendur. For that alagiri made the massive arrangement. But on the other side stalin who is at Ch...

Is it a necessity for Brahmins to cast a vote in favour of TVK or NTK as a symbol of gratitude in tamilnadu assembly election 2026?

Brahmins and the Parties that gave them opportunities in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Elections . The highly anticipated BJP candidate list for the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections was released yesterday(03.Apr.2026). It is my wish as well that the BJP should win in the majority of constituencies. However, this time, qualified candidates are not in the fray in many places. Tamilisai Soundararajan, through her aggressive internal maneuvering, has snatched the Mylapore constituency, which should have been allocated to a Brahmin. Surprisingly, Seeman’s Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) has given opportunities to Brahmins in six locations. Furthermore, unexpectedly, Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has given the Mylapore seat to the party’s treasurer, Venkatraman, who also belongs to the Brahmin community. Constituencies allocated to Brahmins: * Seeman (NTK): Mylapore, T. Nagar, Saidapet, Alandur, Maduravol and Mayiladuthurai. * Vijay (TVK): Mylapore. Thus, both TVK and NTK have provided opportunities for B...
