Is it a necessity for Brahmins to cast a vote in favour of TVK or NTK as a symbol of gratitude in tamilnadu assembly election 2026?
Brahmins and the Parties that gave them opportunities in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Elections.
The highly anticipated BJP candidate list for the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections was released yesterday(03.Apr.2026). It is my wish as well that the BJP should win in the majority of constituencies.
However, this time, qualified candidates are not in the fray in many places. Tamilisai Soundararajan, through her aggressive internal maneuvering, has snatched the Mylapore constituency, which should have been allocated to a Brahmin.
Surprisingly, Seeman’s Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) has given opportunities to Brahmins in six locations. Furthermore, unexpectedly, Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has given the Mylapore seat to the party’s treasurer, Venkatraman, who also belongs to the Brahmin community.
Constituencies allocated to Brahmins:
* Seeman (NTK): Mylapore, T. Nagar, Saidapet, Alandur, Maduravol and Mayiladuthurai.
* Vijay (TVK): Mylapore.
Thus, both TVK and NTK have provided opportunities for Brahmins to contest.
However, in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Brahmins have not been given an opportunity. Moreover, Annamalai, who is greatly liked by people of all castes within the BJP, is also not contesting.
Therefore, we, as Brahmins, must vote for and ensure the victory of those Brahmin candidates specifically in the constituencies where they have been given a chance.
- Only then will others understand our strength.
- Discarding the logic that "if we don't vote for the NDA, the vote will be wasted and benefit the DMK," we must vote for Brahmins as much as possible this time.
If possible, even if there is no Brahmin candidate in your specific constituency, you should cast your vote for the party that gave Brahmins an opportunity in other seats.
This is the debt of gratitude Brahmins owe to those two parties. Furthermore, it is a lesson we must teach the NDA.
Let no one mistake me for a DMK supporter because of this. This is purely the voice of a "Sanghi."
From the point of view of showing Brahmin strength, the above points are valid.
ReplyDeleteHowever from the long term perspective of ensuring the DMK does not come back again, voting for NDA is a must. Do understand by electing a Brahmin in a party which will not get a majority, the position is wasted… we have seen how in the last 5 years the DMK has bulldozed their agenda in spite of opposing MLA’s & Governor. So we should elect an alternate govt and hence consolidate our votes for the same - let us not defocus & get our votes split
