How are you justifying the law and problem was worst in Tamil Nadu but it's CM M.K. Stalin claiming role model state to India?

The Recent Vilathikulam Incident

Since the beginning of March 2026, numerous criminal incidents have occurred across Tamil Nadu. In these incidents, four to five minor girls were gang-raped, resulting in hospitalization or death. Over the last few days, the Vilathikulam incident has been highlighted by only a few media outlets; most major media houses have not covered it, allegedly due to influence from DMK party members.

The victim was a minor student currently appearing for her +2 examinations. On Tuesday (March 10, 2026), after returning home from an exam, she went to a nearby open space covered by bushes to attend to a "nature call."

When she failed to return, her parents attempted to file a complaint at the local Kolathur Police Station in the Vilathikulam taluk. However, they were directed to the Vilathikulam Police Station instead. At both stations, police sub-inspectors, including female officers, reportedly ignored the incident. They refused to file a missing person's report and instead suggested to the parents that the girl might have eloped.

The following day, the girl’s body was found near the bushes with wounds across her body, including her private parts. The aspirations of this +2 student, who dreamed of becoming a District Collector, came to a tragic end.

This tragedy stems from the negligence of police stations, whose primary responsibility is to maintain law and order and protect the innocent. Police personnel should treat everyone equally, regardless of whether they belong to influential or poor families. Had they attended to the family's queries promptly, this major tragedy might have been prevented.

To date, the culprits have not been found—drawing parallels to the Vengaivayal case, where individuals who mixed human excrement into the drinking water of Dalit residents remain at large.

DMK MP Kanimozhi, sister of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, visited the area to pacify the situation. However, protesters blocked her entry, despite her being the sitting MP for the region. While DMK ministers and MP Kanimozhi frequently protest against incidents in Manipur, the culprits in her own constituency remain unidentified as of today (March 15, 2026), even with her party in power.

DMK members often compare Tamil Nadu favorably to other states, yet rural villages like Kolathur still lack basic toilet facilities. Much like the 1960s, people are still forced to use open spaces for nature calls.

This is one of the most sensitive incidents of March, yet major media outlets in Tamil Nadu are suppressing it, and there is a lack of open debate on Tamil satellite channels. Furthermore, opposition parties like the AIADMK have not participated in the protests.

There is an expectation that leaders like EPS and Annamalai should lead massive protests to seek justice for the victim, yet currently, only the local residents are protesting. By failing to act as the election nears, the opposition parties are missing a vital opportunity to address the sad state of affairs in Tamil Nadu.
