A Family in Distress: Struggling with Vision Loss and Poverty

In the sacred town of Thirunageswaram (near the Uppiliappan Temple) near Kumbakonam, a family is facing profound hardship due to severe visual impairment and a total lack of steady income. Their situation is heart-wrenching.

The Family’s Circumstances

The household consists of three members, all of whom are struggling to survive:

* Sri. Venkatesan (71): He has completely lost his vision and has been bedridden for the past few years due to various illnesses.

* Smt. Amirthavalli (66): His wife, who cares for the family despite her age.

* Sri. Srinivasan (35): Their son, who suffered 90% vision loss in his mid-twenties. Despite being highly qualified—holding a B.Com and ICWA degree—he has been denied employment by many because of his visual impairment. Doctors have unfortunately stated there is no medical chance of restoring his sight.

Current Financial Status

The family currently receives a government disability pension of ₹1,500 each for the father and son. However, this small amount is nowhere near enough to cover their daily living expenses, rent, and mounting medical bills. Seeing a qualified individual like Srinivasan unable to provide for his elderly, ailing parents is truly distressing.

According to ancient wisdom, helping those burdened by such hardships is not just an act of kindness, but a way to mitigate our own past negative karmas and ancestral debts (Pithru Doshas).
