 EVILS OF THE brahmin INTERCASTE Marriages

There are many views , articles , postings expressed against the intercaste marriages even though the number keeps on increasing in the count. There is no blockage for this.

But many not realising if we do so we would have lost the brahminical charm. This article makes the clear view of how we lost the customs and heritage which is long lasting if we do so.

We see the harms that happened/ Setbacks to brahmin families. 4 Such examples given in this posting.

Marriage- 1: (I will not take off my shirt)

One brahmin girl had a love affair with the non-brahmin boy. Parents advised the lot but she does not turn around. so the brahmin family had a talk with the boy's family and got the approval to perform the marriage in a brahminical way. When times came for the panigrahana sastrigals asked the groom to take off the shirt to wear sacred thread in the bare body.

But the non brahmin groom refused to take off his shirt. The girl's family faced the humiliation in front of their brahmin relatives. The marriage hall was full of confusion and it was stopped for a while. At last the brahmin family requested at least to wear the sacred thread over the shirt. The bridegroom agreed and the marriage function ended peacefully.

Marriage 2 :(Girl took off the jewelry and returned to her mother)

Another brahmin girl working in the IT sector climbed the organisation ladder very fast and she is in a respectable position with a highly paid package. The girl's family has not taken the steps for her marriage.

One fine day a girl invited her mother for a party in the star hotel. The girl's mother went along with utmost happiness . In the party only her office friends alone were invited . The mother was eagerly enjoying it without realizing the shocking news that her daughter was going to deliver.

At that time that brahmin girl introduced the non brahmin boy and informed that she had decided to marry him. Mother was shocked, cried and shouted.

Argument continued and at last girl remove all her golden ornaments gave to her mother and replied that you take back all your belongings and decided to go with him.

The girl expressed her love in the hotel party and married that boy irrespective of the boy's poor financial status. Later the girl's parents came to know that the non brahmin family utilised her daughter's earnings for their younger sister's marriage and also settling their debts.

Marriage 3: ( Grandpa why you're not conducting same sacred thread ceremony for me)

One grandfather planned to perform the sacred thread function for the grandson(born for his son). The grandfather's son married within the community but his daughter married the non brahmin boy.

After the initial tussle girl joined back and maintained the harmony with her parents. Both of his son and daughter have the son in the same age group .

In the sacred thread function daughter attended along with her husband's family. At the end of the function,daughter's son asked his grandfather 'GRANDPA why the same function has not held for me and when I am going to have sacred thread in my shoulders '. Daughter's son asked this question in front of his close relatives and he saw the laughter in all their faces. He puts his head down and becomes speechless .

Marriage 4): (She must cook non-veg)

One of the known person is fond of consuming only non-vegetarian food. But his mother belongs to vaideeha family. when enquired he reveals that even though his mother was vegetarian at any cost she should cook non veg for his husband (non brahmin) and for her children .

In all the above said matters affected people are brahmin community people .

At any place no one is getting compromised with our custom . but we have to come down by lowering our standard of living and go against our basic community norms.

These types of marriages happened very rarely thirty years before . But it is disturbed to see this type of marriage happening in the known brahmin circles., every now and then.

Those who like to protect our community heritage should come forward to stop this type of nuisance.
