Definition of Brahminical Food
Satvik food, which mainly excludes the certain vegetables and food items which develops thamasa and rajo gunas.
First we should know which should be excluded, as I born and brought up in Tamil Brahmin family and I list it out such items.
First items are the vegetables and fruits of foreign origin like ЁЯеХ, beetroot, ЁЯлС,bacroli, radish, ЁЯНЕ etc
Onion , bottle gourd and ЁЯзД also should be avoided, which is the restricted food for Brahmins even though it had a Indian origin. All types of chillies also comes in the list.
Why i know these because when I was kid during 1980’s some times my grandfather brought the vegetables from the shop, in his list it contains avaraikai (broad beans),ladies finger, raw banana, bitter gourd, colocasia etc…list goes on.
For ceremony Brahmins uses the vegetables only of Indian origin (for spiciness they use pepper instead of chillies).
As a Tamil Brahmin I have listed above food items.
Due to strict orthodoxness old Brahmins would not take the outside food, they prefer only home made food items. Suppose on emergency or landed in the different place, they will eat the food items which is prepared by Brahmins. Especially they would search and found out such places, then alone they consume food.
I gave entire definition for the Brahmin food.
Iam summarising the details which i provided.
Brahmins had the list which not to be consumed.
Food items prepared by Brahmins.
Still such people are there in southern India following strictly their food habits and also pass on to the next generation and protecting brahminical culture.
