Brahmin MLA's in Tamilnadu assembly from 1991
Whenever DMK won with absolute majority then there would not be single Brahmin representation.
After 1996, it had happened again in 2021 with out single Brahmin representation. Because in 1996, Jayalalithaa herself lost in election.
It is like unwritten law that whenever DMK won with absolute single majority then there will not be the single Brahmin representation in the TN assembly.
Kamalhassan, Brahmin actor, leader of makkal needhi mayam, lost to Bjp candidate vanathi srinivasan in 2021 assembly elections. In this Brahmins were happy on the vanathi's victory, because kamal is the follower of Dravidian ideology.
After Jayalalithaa's demise, ADMK had given a chance to R.Nataraj, (in Mylapore)Brahmin candidate, but he lost in 2021,hence no representation in the assembly. Bjp Brahmin candidates like H.RAJA defeated due to the dinakaran party's (Ammk) vote split in 2021 assembly elections.
Iam closely following general elections from 1991. Following Brahmin representation in the elections conducted subsequently after that.
1991—— J. Jayalalithaa, rama. Ramanathan from Kumbakonam assembly segment.
1996- No Brahmin representation
2001 — J.Jayalalithaa and H.Raja from bjp won in DMK alliance from Karaikudi.
2006 — Jayalalithaa and S.ve.shekar, admk mla from Mylapore constituency.
2011- Jayalalithaa and rajalakshmi, admk mla from Mylapore constituency
2016- Jayalalithaa and R.Nataraj, Former DGP, Mylapore admk mla
So Brahmin representation can be counted in tamilnadu, due to that photo had been pasted.
After demise of Jayalalithaa there is no Brahmin representation, which is sad truth.
Nowadays, brahmins completely move towards the bjp from traditional admk voting pattern , hope something good will happen for the betterment of Brahmins in future atleast by 2026, suppose if bjp won with considerable seats. (Like implementation of EWS quoata etc in tamilnadu).
